ExCeL London was a hive of activity last week as the food, drink and packaging industries turned out in force for a spectacular edition of the co-located IFE13 and Pro2Pac events. Exhibitors and visitors enthusiastically received both shows, commenting on the busy aisles, insightful attractions and impressive presentation delivered by event organisers Fresh Montgomery. Early indications show the event attracted an audience of 26,498 professionals (subject to ABC audit) from 95 countries, including an over 10% rise in attendance from international visitors.

With less than two weeks to go until the Cake & Bake Show launches in Manchester, it is already set to be the most exciting show yet. As well as a whole host of celebrity demos from the likes of Paul Hollywood and Tom Herbert, plus competitions and interactive sessions, the April 5th - 7th Manchester show features a market place which promises the best variety of top baking equipment, sugarcraft tools and delicious bakes.

April UK dates have been confirmed following rave reviews of the multi-platinum selling Polish hard rock band's new 'Don't Set Your Dogs On Me' studio album. Coma, the biggest rock band in Poland, whose irresistible sixth studio album was released on earMUSIC on 25th February 2013, have confirmed two UK headline concerts in April. Coma have notched up several number one hits in both the single and album charts, let alone multiple gold and platinum awards for all of their previous five studio albums in their native Poland.

Tickets are now on sale for Hickstead's two flagship international fixtures, the British Jumping Derby Meeting (19th - 23rd June) and the Longines Royal International Horse Show (30th July - 4th August). Following Great Britain's success in the London 2012 Olympics, equestrian sport is experiencing a surge in popularity - and the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead is a great place to see the sport's leading names in action.

Excitement is mounting for what promises to be the biggest Easter weekend of food and drink that Sussex has ever seen. The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival 'Spring Harvest' will be returning to the heart of the city for the first of its two annual celebrations of good, local produce. The main anchor events will run on Good Friday 29th March and Easter Saturday 30th March, with even more events on Easter Monday 1st April.

For the first time ever, Chef Vivek Singh of the prestigious Cinnamon Club is opening up his kitchen and dining room to an "outsider" to guest chef for an afternoon. That pop-up chef is none other than Asma Khan, who runs the immensely popular Darjeeling Express Indian supperclub.
