National Bramley Apple Week (UK) 6th - 13th February 2011

February 6th sees the start of Bramley Apple Week in the UK, but what’s so great about this apple and why are we celebrating? For those of you who don’t know, here’s a brief rundown on why the Bramley is known as “The King of Cooking Apples”

Shake Up Your Wake Up

As the most important meal of the day it need only take minutes to make, but will deliver hours of benefits. Throughout the week itself (23 – 29 January 2011) hundreds of Shake Up Your Wake Up breakfast events will be held around the country to celebrate Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

Australia Day

Australia Day on 26th January commemorates the beginning of settlement in Australia, when Governor Arthur Phillip landed at Sydney Cove in 1788. In 1838, the fiftieth anniversary of the landing, it was proclaimed a public holiday.
