Auberge du Chocolat

Auberge du Chocolat

The Source caught up with Anne Scott, owner of Auberge du Chocolat; an artisan family business with a passion for chocolate. Their mission is to make top quality chocolate available to everyone.

All their hand made products are created with individual care, offering a personalised service to all customers.

Auberge du ChocolatThe Auberge du Chocolat journey started in 2005 and very quickly Anne's son, Jonathan also developed a passion for chocolate. He was the youngest person to ever win a Chocolate Academy Award at only 17! (2008).

This was one of the first of many awards for Auberge, who have rapidly established a significant presence in the premium chocolate community, with their prize-winning chocolates and bars.

In the Great Taste Awards 2010 they were awarded FOUR golds and have received further awards from the Academy of Chocolate and the Ice Cream Alliance.

Most of the chocolates are made with Fairtrade couveture and the chocolates reflect the passion they feel for them. With traditional & contemporary flavours and everything expertly made with good natural ingredients, the company is committed to sourcing products in a sustainable and ethical way.

They also have an amazing dairy free range so no one needs miss out on excellent, mouth-watering chocolates.

Last year they opened a large workshop in Chesham because the shop in Gerrards Cross could no longer cope with demand.

As well as fabulous chocolates, the Gerrards Cross shop also sells a wide range of other fine, prize-winning artisan products such as jams and preserves, coffee and teas. They are happy to make up a hamper of your choice from the wide selection of products.

Visit the cafe area in the shop to enjoy real hot chocolate, coffee, cakes or croissants. Outside in the courtyard, which is used in the summer, is a place where you can enjoy the cafe and ice cream products in the fresh air, away from the road.

Offering chocolate workshops, corporate events, children and adult chocolate parties and Girl Guide Chocolatier badge courses on the premises, this shop is definitely worth a visit.

Chocolate ShoeThe Auberge Showroom was opened in March 2010 and is now the heart of the "Auberge" operation.

Downstairs houses the workshop, where everything (chocolates, ice cream, fudge) is hand made. Customers are very welcome to visit Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Not only can you look around the fascinating showroom but you can talk to the chocolateirs and discuss any requirements you have.

The showroom also has the "Academy" where Auberge du Chocolat hold workshops and parties for all ages.

The Auberge Academy now offers a full-day chocolate making courses for those who want to discover more about the fascinating subject of chocolate.

Another major aspect of the business is the personalisation of chocolate figures. This is so important at times such as Valentines. How better to make someone feel really special than to give them handmade chocolate gifts with a totally personal message!

If you want to get even more personal – why not go along to a Chocolate Workshop & make your own gift.

This service is so popular in their shops that they now also offer it over the net for those who are unable to visit in person.

Along with wedding favours, occasion ranges, gift vouchers and corporate events Auberge du Chocolat has something for everyone.

This month Auberge du Chocolat are offering one lucky reader the chance to win a Chocolate Hamper.
