The BVA vets are advising dog owners to keep their dogs on leads around sheep during the lambing season this year to reduce the rising cost and injury caused by loose dogs chasing and attacking sheep and young lambs while offlead on walks. It is good practice for owners to keep dogs on leads at all times when walking near livestock but it is particularly important during the spring.
