Pupils Bring Organic Local Food to the Playground

This October, three London schools are holding farmers markets as part of an exciting new two year project for the capital. Over the coming year and a half the Soil Association will be working with 10 schools across London in the Farm Academy Programme, which helps teach pupils about where their food comes from through farm visits and the establishment of school farmers markets - organized entirely by pupils.

National Eating Out Week 20th - 27th November was started in 2008 to promote the diversity of cuisines in Britain and to raise funds for charities concentrating on hunger, malnourishment and poverty alongside National Curry Week now in its 14th year.

Be Alcohol Aware

Alcohol Awareness Week 2011 14-20 November 2011 will see the launch of the Alcohol Concern's charter for a world free from alcohol harm. A four-point statement based on the World Health Organisation's own charter on alcohol which they will be asking individuals, public bodies and other organisations to endorse.

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has set a date for the next Ask Your Pharmacist (AYP) public awareness week - 7-13 November 2011. AYP Week - More than Medicines is part of the NPA's ongoing work to showcase community pharmacy as an expert clinical and public health resource, as well as an effective medicines supply service.

Jamie and Hugh Join Culinary Forces

Bringing festive cheer and the ultimate in Christmas culinary expertise to Taste of Christmas, Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will be opening the show on Friday 2nd December and taking part in exciting demonstrations. Not only will the chefs be sharing their gastronomic wisdom with guests at the event with separate cookery demonstrations, but they will also take to the stage together in a Taste of Christmas first for a unique session before the show officially opens.
