Vax Launches Ultra-Light Vacuum Cleaner With More Manoeuvrability
Vax, the UK's best-selling floorcare brand, has launched the Air3, the lightest, full-sized, multi-cyclonic upright vacuum cleaner in the world, with more manoeuvrability than ever before.
Building on the success of the Vax Air, the next generation Vax Air³ answers three main requirements from customers.
As well as being lightweight, it has powerful suction, plus it's highly manoeuvrable, so users can vacuum effortlessly around their furniture with a slight turn of the wrist.
Richard Waters, Senior Product Designer at Vax, described how he was inspired by the movement of a skateboard to create Air Motion Technology, ensuring the Air³ is extremely agile:
With the Air, we designed it to be lightweight, but the Air³ had to combine this lightness with powerful suction, and make it manoeuvrable. Using what are effectively skateboard wheels on a vacuum cleaner allowed us to make this machine incredibly agile. Answering our customers' three wishes in this way has allowed us to create an excellent package.
A succession of exciting new products has made Vax the fastest growing floorcare business in Europe, growing more than 10 fold over the last decade.
With head offices in Birmingham, the company has doubled the size of its UK team in the last two years and is currently recruiting 100 new product designers and engineers to support the next phase of growth.
The Air³ is just the latest in a line of what will be market-defining products from Vax's British-based design team in the coming years.
