Female Intimate Wax Specialists

When it involves hot wax, any treatment becomes an intimate affair but waxing intimate areas becomes even more so. Finding the right person to get 'down and under' is challenging, very personal, and needs to be researched with care if you are going to allow someone to pour hot wax in private places. I got to know Female Intimate Wax Specialist, Tara, by following her Instagram account and chatting about the reels she posted. Tara answered all my concerns and questions, and then she got to know me in a whole new light.

Now, I hope I have your attentions for all the right reasons because I want to talk about female intimate areas. Tara removes hair from the whole body but specialises in female intimate waxing. For us, well me personally, it became a very personal experience, which feels a bit taboo to discuss with strangers but the more us girls talk about it, the easier it gets.

Having used various methods to control body hair throughout my adult life, one area became more bothersome than others. With a family history of female cancers, all areas of being a woman were under scrutiny. In 2024 I underwent a total hysterectomy, which cured my adenomyosis (mis-diagnosed until after turning 50), removed my ovaries, cervix, and uterus, along with my fallopian tubes and anything else loitering in that area. It was a decision I do not regret. It has removed decades of pain; pain which I was told was not gynaecological, and often told was in my head. It also removed many hereditary-cancer risks and worries.

Before this operation any personal 'hair care' was achieved with razors or an electric trimmer, both of which have sharp blades and consequences of such. Ingrown hairs led to a biopsy for cancer of the vulva (yes it is a thing too) and having that in the family, although not hereditary, has made me more aware of any skin condition or complaints in intimate areas. Lotions can cause irritation to an area where detergents and soap have no place. Your vulva is self-cleaning so while you may clean around the area with soaps and creams, they should never be introduced closer. Shaving will also cause irritation as when the hairs grow back with a blunt end they poke the surrounding skin area as they grow, causing extra aggravation and sores.

Any sore area in that region needs to be investigated to rule out serious issues. I was being extra careful from a family history viewpoint and previously having pre-cancerous cells on the (now removed) cervix. A recent follow-up for my hormone replacement therapy (HRT) led to confirmation from my gynaecologist that the softer hair tips that regrow after waxing could actually be more beneficial in that area, as opposed to returning to a razor cut hair growth. Shaving also has a quicker repeat cycle which traumatises the delicate skin more frequently. Through visits to Tara any skin concerns have been resolved and a more comfortable outcome to shaving is now in place.

Tara is very professional in her approach to intimate waxing but makes the whole weird experience seem so normal. For more details check out WaxbyTara on Instagram.

A word of honesty - it is not painless. Hair is still being removed at the root. It becomes less painful each time, and it is a pain that is almost immediately forgotten. A professional waxer will expertly remove your hair with the minimum of pain, and reassure you ever step of the way
