Roger Daltrey is Coming to GuilFest
Founder and frontman of The Who, Roger Daltrey is coming to GuilFest.
The iconic rock legend has been confirmed to headline the Main Stage at GuilFest on Friday 15th July 2011.
Roger will be performing The Who’s legendary rock opera 'Tommy' from start to finish, as well as a variety of Who Classics and more!
Tommy is not only one of the most acclaimed and defining works of the rock era, it is an enduring album that resonates on radio to this day where it has found multi-generational appeal.
As lead singer of The Who, one of the most influential rock bands of all time, Roger has notched up over 100 million record sales - including ten UK top 10 studio albums and thirteen UK top 10 singles, such as seminal classics 'My Generation', 'Pinball Wizard', and 'Happy Jack' amongst many others; as well as scoring four UK top 40 studio albums as a solo artist in his own right.
Roger has also been winner of a string of prestigious awards and accolades in his 52 year career, including a Grammy lifetime achievement award for outstanding artist significance in music, a British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors Gold Badge Award for special and lasting contributions to the British entertainment industry, and even a CBE for services to Music, The Entertainment Industry and Charity.
As a member of The Who, Roger was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. The band also received The Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement in Live Music Award in 2006, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from The British Phonographic Industry in 1988.

Adam Ant and his band, The Good, The Mad and The Lovely Posse are confirmed to headline The Good Time Guide Stage on Friday 15th July.
Leader of New Wave/post-punk group Adam and the Ants, Adam has scored seven UK top 40 albums, ten UK top 10 hits, including three No1 Singles, 'Stand and Deliver', 'Prince Charming' and 'Goody-Two Shoes'.
Razorlight join already announced superstar James Blunt, who will be headlining the Main Stage on Sunday 17th July.
Singer/songwriter Peter Andre; Public Image Ltd, the English post-punk outfit fronted by John Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten; Erasure, the definitive synth-pop superstars; N-Dubz; Ziggy Marley and Gallows all join the fast growing line-up.
GuilFest has been consistently voted as one of the UK's best family festivals over the past 7 years, winning the prestigious award in 2006.
Held in the idyllic location of Stoke Park, Guildford, visitors can expect a great weekend featuring 8 stages of live music, the Cosmic Comedy Zone, Man In The Moon Theatre Tent, amazing Kidzone, as well as brilliantly unique attractions such as Farmer Giles Barndance, The 70s Disco, the Ceroc Dance Tent, massive late licensed bar with GuilFest’s own real ale, Calypso Cocktail bar, great food and drink from around the world, and much more besides!
Taking place over three days on the weekend of July 15th, 16th and 17th, GuilFest 2011 will feature 7 stages of live music, hosting an incredible 200 acts.
Consistently voted as one of the UKs top family festivals, GuilFest is known for its fantastically eclectic line ups and wonderfully laid back atmosphere.
Famous stages such as the Rock Cave, the Dance tent and the acoustic lounge will all be returning for the 2011 festival, cementing the fact that at GuilFest , there really is something for everyone.
And it’s not just about the music.
All around the site you can find great attractions such as the hilarious Cosmic Comedy Zone, Man in the Moon Theatre tent, Farmer Giles Barndance, street theatre, delicious food and drink from around the world, enormous 150ft bar, cocktail bars and much more besides.
For the younger guests there is the Kidzone, which last year featured performances from the one and only Peppa Pig!
