Cowes Week 2012

Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 11th - 18th August is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world and an iconic feature of the British sporting calendar. With around 1,000 boats, 8,500 competitors ranging from Olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors, and in excess of 100,00 spectators watching the sailing, enjoying live entertainment and the vibrant festival atmosphere, it is a one-of-a-kind event and certainly not to be missed.

Harvest Brighton and Hove Project Nominated for National Lottery Award

The Harvest Brighton & Hove project has been nominated for a National Lottery Award. Harvest Brighton & Hove run a citywide campaign to encourage people to grow their own food. Through food growing workshops, volunteering opportunities and an unused garden scheme, over 5,000 people have participated in food growing initiatives.

Ludlow Food Festival Comes of Age

The Ludlow Food Festival comes of age this year (2012) and the organisers are hard at work bringing together a host of attractions to help celebrate the festival's 18th birthday from 7th - 9th September. Lovers of food, drink, books and photography are well catered for in 2012 with a food themed book festival and photography exhibition running alongside the main event.

Taste Cumbria Festival Gears up for its Third Year in Cockermouth

Taste Cumbria Food Festival, held in Cockermouth from the 29th - 30th September 2012, will serve up food and drink from over a hundred of Cumbria's best producers, hoteliers and restaurateurs. Joining TV and Michelin starred chef Simon Rogan of L’Enclume in Cartmel, and to add extra flavour to Cumbria's perfect produce, will be the county's finest culinary talent, a host of local producers and a peppering of celebrity chefs, offering master classes and teaching skills, from fly-fishing to foraging.

Sunshine at Last for GuilFest

After two horrendous days and dreadful nights of rain, the sun well and truly joined in on the last day of GuilFest 2012. YST was once again out and about at the festival, discovering hidden talent on the many various stages, whilst looking for more gluten and dairy free food to keep us going for the day.

Tim Minchin Turns the Air Blue and Blows the Crowd Away at GuilFest

At The Good Time Guide Stage a huge crowd gathered expectantly for the next act, hoping the grey skies and black clouds stayed away. And a little after 7.30pm Tim Minchin came out and parted the clouds like no other man could (unless he happened to have had bare feet, long hair and a beard) and turned the air blue, while filling the area with some real belly busting laughter!
