Due to the phenomenal reaction to the sell out launch show in London, the Cake & Bake Show, the UK's biggest experiential event dedicated to all things baking, is proud to announce that a second edition of the show will take place at Manchester Central over three days, 5th-7th April 2013. The first Cake & Bake Show held at Earls Court last September sold out four weeks before the event, and attracted more than 21,000 visitors across two days, demonstrating that the public's demand for baking shows no sign of slowing down.

If so, why not take a break from the same old traditional festivities by heading to the Ripley's Alternative Christmas Festival in the heart of Piccadilly Circus. The capital's most bizarre attraction is playing host to a series of quirky Christmas events during December.

British cooker manufacturer Belling is celebrating its 100th anniversary this week with an eight-foot interactive cake and, for five days, social media users can add to the design by tweeting a birthday message. The 'tweets' will be auto-printed onto edible paper using edible ink and added instantly to the cake. The eight-foot high birthday cake has been created by quirky cake artist Connie Viney and the design - which shows historic British events from the last 100 years - was crowdsourced via Belling's Facebook community.
