You don't have to look far for somewhere to eat when you are popping in and around London. Saudi Arabian rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with against the clock, winning the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard with more than one second to spare. Abdullah, 30, partnered the quick and careful dun mare Chesterfield, holding off opposition from second-placed Joe Clayton and Ingliston Twister.

The 3rd Asian Curry Awards (ACA) are open to all Indian and Asian restaurants in Britain and lovers of Asian food now can nominate their favourite restaurants. Following 11 regional heats across the country the winners will be announced at a high profile, glittering award dinner being held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London on Sunday 17th November 2013.

From the 3rd to the 11th August 2013, Manchester will play host to urban gardening festival Dig The City. The event will see the city centre transformed into a nature wonderland as Manchester's retailers, restaurants and food producers join forces to celebrate the growing culture of city greening and sustainable food production.

Today sees the start of the 2013 Hickstead Derby Meeting 19th - 23rd June and this year the event has attracted a strong field of entries, with 13 nations represented and a total of 180 horses entered in the international classes. Entries for the national classes on the opening days of the show are already full, with record numbers wishing to compete at the All England Jumping Course.
