'Welcome to the Jungle' with CakeBomb at the Manchester Cake & Bake Show 2014
Could you eat a selection of creepy crawlies? John Whaite has been sampling some of the many that will be available at this year's Cake & Bake Show in Manchester from 4th - 6th April 2014.
Great British Bake Off winner, John sampled one of the many sugarcraft insect creations taken from what is expected to be the UK's biggest cake installation at the Cake & Bake Show Manchester.
The cake-tastic creepy crawlies will make up part of the life-size edible jungle cake installation on display at the event.
Created by CakeBomb, a collaborative team of 17 cake artists and bakers, "Welcome to the Jungle" will have taken around 6000 hours to create and is expected to be the most ambitious cake and decorative sugarcraft installation the UK has ever seen.
After the success of last year's sell out Manchester Cake & Bake Show, the country's biggest baking event is returning to Manchester. Celebrities at the show include GBBO winner John Whaite, Rosemary Shrager, Simon Rimmer, Eric Lanlard, Britain's Best Bakery's Mich Turner & Peter Sidwell as well as this year's Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn and her fellow contestants.
