The POW Brixton are excited to reveal their 'Month of Sundays', a brand new Sunday celebration, championing music genres that The POW hold dear. Inviting the best names in the business to steer the sounds of garage, icons, disco and carnival, Sundays include Norman Jay MBE Up On The Roof, Crazy P Soundsystem, South London Soul Train with Jazzheadchronic & Friends, Jamie 3:26, CC:Disco, Red Greg & Nick The Record, DJ Pied Piper, Lisa Maffia's Birthday Party, Soca On De Roof, Afro Carib Sessions and more.
The POW Rooftop (Brixton's only rooftop location) is known city wide for its eclectic parties, unbeatable sunset views of South London, Wray & Nephew Rum Shack, mouthwatering GoneBurger rooftop burgers and cocktail bar. Months of Sundays launches on Sunday 3rd June with DJ Pied Piper, all the way through to the end of September. JUNE: GARAGE
Kicking proceedings off with Garage, every Sunday in June revellers can expect to be taken back to London's original garage scene. DJ Pied Pier, Scott Garcia Sunship will be kicking off the Month Of Sundays on 3rd June. Join Lisa Maffia for her Birthday party on 10th June, with Girls of Garage including Shola Ama, Stush and more. Performing on 17th & 24th June will be UKG pioneers Star One & Sticky, bringing new and old UKG sounds with a slice of Bashment and UK Funky!
JULY: ICONS
Heating up summer up on the roof, The POW will be celebrating icons by hosting the best names in the business for a month of unforgettable funk & soul parties. The legendary Norman Jay MBE will open the sunshine month on July 1st with Low Life's Rooftop Disco two-stepping into the building the following weekend with guests Bill Brewster, Frank Broughton & Ray Mang. Expect further roof terrace revelry through July, with Sunday parties all day and night from Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, South London Soul Trainand a July closing party hosted by a soon to be announced very special guest.
AUGUST: DISCO
Disco will dominate August with an incredible lineup of Sunday extravaganzas and parties hosted by Jamie 3:26, a connect-the-dots of disco from across the ages courtesy of Red Greg & Nick The Record, a summer sound-system show and DJ set up on the famed two-tier roof from the iconic Crazy P and an incredible Sunday set from the amazing CC:Disco & Friends.
SEPTEMBER: CARNIVAL
September Sundays will see The POW extending Carnival season with a series of parties for those looking to hold on to summer for as long as possible. Soca On De Roof and AfroCentral Rooftop Party are just two of the amazing events taking place across the month with the rooftop closing party from Afro Carib Sessions who will bring a fusion of Afrobeats, Soca, Dancehall, Tropical House, and Afrohouse to the unmissable event.
Banishing the Sunday blues, revellers can expect their Month of Sundays experience to be paired with amazing burgers from National Burger Award finalists Goneburger who will be offering up the best burgers from the rooftop spot, delicious rum-soaked cocktails from the Wray & Nephew Rum Shack, deck chairs, games, and incredible views from the roof that will ensure no visit is complete until gone sunset.
