It is always a proud moment when a family business welcomes a new member - so welcoming a 6th generation family member must be a very special occasion. Since June 1847, five generations of the Booths family have led E.H. Booth & Co. Ltd from modest beginnings, with just one small shop in Blackpool, to the present day where the company trades 28 stores across Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester and will open its 29th store in Milnthorpe in November. The family owned and operated Lancashire based retailer Booths now welcomes the 6th generation of Booth into the family business.

For most people The UK RumFest is the ultimate rum experience - for rum drinkers, rum aficionados and rum lovers to sample the music, the food, the partying and people associated with drinking rum. But this year was it more party than appreciation - and does the serious side of rum still have a place within the carnival atmosphere that was RumFest 2012...

When we were invited to attend Choc Tales, a pairing of chocolates and cocktails, we didn’t need much persuading to visit Dean Street for this première event, in celebration of Chocolate Week. And with Cocktail Week claiming the same calendar dates Choc Tales is the perfect way to honour both events.

The Chocolate Festival returns to London's Southbank Centre from the 7th - 9th December 2012. Like the very best Advent calendars, The Chocolate Festival will be packed full of surprises, gifts and chocolates. Exhibitors include Rococo, Valrhona, Original Beans, William Curley, Damian Allsop, Paul Wayne Gregory, Sir Hans Sloane, Paul A Young, L'Artisan Du Chocolat and many more.

The Midlands' own Dave Hill, legendary guitarist from Slade, is to launch the Childline Rocks' Guitar Challenge for a Guinness World Record on the 14th October 2012. Taking place at Coventry's Ricoh Arena on Sunday afternoon several hundred guitarists of all types and ages will attempt to break a Guinness World Record for The Most Guitar Amplifiers Used Simultaneously.

A celebration of Tea and Coffee will be coming to London's Southbank Centre from the 2nd - 4th November 2012. Organised by Yael Rose, Festival Director for the popular Cheese & Wine, Real Bread and The Chocolate Festivals, The Tea & Coffee Festival will allow visitors to not only shop and learn, but also to speak and interact with some of Britain's best tea and coffee producers, including Choi Time, Tea Pigs, Dark Fluid and Sea Island Coffee.
