The countdown to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 30th June 2012 continues and the pace of activity is quickening with over a hundred events, the length and breadth of the country, have now been registered.

Plymouth has been chosen to host this year.

In conjunction with the Armed Forces, Plymouth will be organising a spectacular day of exhibitions and displays on land, on sea and in the air for the Armed Forces Day National Event.

Elsewhere, in the capital of Wales, Cardiff will host a parade through the city centre and a Drum Head service.

In Northern Ireland there will be amazing celebrations in Carrickfergus, the place to go for a grand family day out featuring a wealth of military static and interactive displays, and exhibitions from across the Forces.

Back in England, Manchester will officially show its support to Armed Forces Day on 26th June with a bonanza of activity, while Birmingham will feature live performances on stage, including the Royal Marines Band and The Forces Sweethearts, in Victoria Square on 30th June.

Blackpool has a glittering array of activities planned in Armed Forces Day week, including Music for Heroes World Forces Dayat Blackpool Opera House and an Armed Forces Day Gala Night in Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

And if you're near Doncaster don't miss the parade through the town centre by veterans, military units, cadet forces, the Women's Land Army, the Bevin Boys, the War Widows' Association, Rotary Clubs, Air Scouts, Scouts, Girlguiding UK and representatives from local schools, led by police horses and a military band.

Meanwhile, down in Kent there will be a parade through Rochester High Street and a drumhead service in the Rochester Castle Gardens, followed by a ticketed Beat Retreat and Ceremonial Sunset in The Historic Dockyard at Chatham.

The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire will also play an important role on the day, with a full programme of events and activities on 30th June including the arrival and departure of the Olympic Torch Relay, a moving Service of Tribute, musical entertainment, exhibitions and displays. There will be something for all the family.

And it isn't just individuals who are getting into the Armed Forces Day spirit.

Crown Carveries are gearing up to offer all current Service personnel and Veterans a free meal. The offer will start on Monday 25th June and run through to Armed Forces Day itself on Saturday 30th June.

Armed Forces Day is also a perfect reminder that there will be tickets for a range of exciting sporting and entertainment events available to our Armed Forces on the day itself and year round thanks to charity Tickets for Troops.
