Once Upon a Time in the Land of Chocolate
The world famous Chocolate Fashion Show returns to the capital for its third UK edition at this year's Chocolate Show London with an exciting line up of incredible outfits including one created by The Fat Duck and a mermaid from Aneesh Popat, The Chocolatier.
The dresses are to be revealed at an exclusive invitation-only Gala evening on 15th October, ahead of The Chocolate Show's opening to the public from 16th-18th October where The Chocolate Fashion Show will take place at 5pm each day.
For those who can't wait until The Chocolate Show, a preview is now available with three of the dresses on display at St Pancras Station until Thursday.
With a theme of 'Once Upon a Time in a Land of Chocolate', The Chocolate Fashion Show will transport the audience to a fantastic fairy tale world where dresses are made entirely of chocolate.
Lucie Bennett of Fleur De Sel, who recently won a Young British Foodies Baking award, has collaborated with Brighton designer Lauren Pratt to create an amazing chocolate dress inspired by the evil character Maleficent. Expect their dress, aptly called 'The Queen of Ravens', to be both dark and delicious.
Anita Thakker, founder of Fruitful Blooms, has teamed up with French fashion designer, Angelique Godey to create their Opulent Indulgence dress - a chocoholic's dream. Everything has been hand crafted out of pure chocolate for this haute couture dress, from each individual leaf to its intricate string of pearls - decadent is the only way to describe this chocolate creation.
Aneesh Popat of The Chocolatier has even taken inspiration from under the sea. His dress, The Goddess of the Sea, has been inspired by mermaids and features gold scales dipped in dark chocolate as if the model has walked right out of a chocolate sea.
Inventive designs combined with natural flavours are at the heart of A Little Piece of Love's chocolate, and their dress is the same. Founder Claire Smith has been working with designer Sophie Hargreaves to create a Dalek-inspired dress… out of Fairtrade chocolate! Claire and Sophie have de-constructed all the elements of the Dalek in order to make the dress, and will be showcasing their brand new range of chocolate Doctor Who characters at The Chocolate Show.
The Chocolate Show is the UK's premier chocolate event with over 80 chocolate companies exhibiting from the UK and around the world, demonstrations from top chefs and pastry chefs, masterclasses, tastings and chocolate sculptures. The chocolate fashion show started in Paris 20 years ago and is now world famous, generating coverage around the globe.
