Glamour, Fashion and Fun at The Longines Royal International Horse Show

The Longines Royal International Horse Show (26-31 July) is one of the most prestigious and glamorous events in the social and equestrian calendar, and on Saturday 30 July a host of beautifully-dressed women will head to the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead for Ladies’ Day.

This year Ladies' Day will be held in support of The Variety Club, a charity which raises funds for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. Entertainment that day will include 'The Italian Job' cavalcade plus an appearance by TV star Larry Lamb, who is an ambassador of the charity.Ladiesday Hickstead

Instead of the thunder of hooves, the International Arena will be temporarily filled with the sound of engines as a parade of the types of cars featured in the film The Italian Job drive round the main ring, with Larry in one of the iconic vehicles.

The Longines Royal International is one of the oldest horse shows in the world, having been first held in 1907. The official horse show of the British Horse Society, it features six days of top showjumping and showing action, with the best riders in the country doing battle to claim the honours.

The highlights include the FEI Nations Cup of Great Britain™, the Longines King George V Gold Cup, the Amlin Plus Eventing Grand Prix, the Templant Events Queen Elizabeth II Cup, plus driving, showing, side-saddle and dressage.

Any visit to Hickstead guarantees a fun day out, but there is something really special about Ladies' Day on the Saturday.

Judges will be out roaming around the showground to find 30 of the smartest-dressed visitors. These ladies are invited to a ringside lodge for a Pimms reception, where final judging will take place. The 10 finalists are then asked to come into the International Arena where the winners are selected and presented with some excellent prizes, which this year include a three-day break for two guests in an exclusive luxury Lodge at the De Vere Carrick on Loch Lomond.
