Tuck Into A Tasty Seven Days With National Vegetarian Week 2011

This National Vegetarian Week (23 - 29 May 2011), sponsored by Cauldron Foods, invite friends and family around the kitchen table to tuck into seven tremendously tasty and daringly different dishes. They’re different because they’re free from meat but full of flavour and sure to please.

Try the Big, Bad Boy Salad, Sweet Potato Burger with Griddled Pineapple and a Chilli Salsa, or how about the stacked high Sandwich Heaven?

Taking place from Monday 23 May to Sunday 29 May 2011, it’s a time for everyone from foodies to families, caterers to cafés, market stalls to meat-free aisles, green grocers to gourmet chefs and supermarkets to stylish restaurants. It’s a real food for thought week.

Cauldron Foods’ sponsorship for National Vegetarian Week is a real boost. While the Week offers everyone an opportunity to get involved, it’s great that such a well-respected brand is again giving its support.

Liz O’Neill, Head of Communications, at the Vegetarian Society.

Last year the NVW team distributed 150,000 booklets and 13,000 posters (free of charge) and hundreds of different activities were held across the UK to celebrate National Vegetarian Week.

National Vegetarian Week is now an established event in the British culinary calendar, a time to celebrate choice and focus on flavoursome vegetarian dishes. The recipes are part of the Vegetarian Society’s brand new Going Veggie guide and National Vegetarian Week is a great time to grab a copy.

It’s a friendly and easy to read resource for going, and staying, vegetarian, packed with information such as how to take the first steps, doing the big shop as a veggie and pesky non-vegetarian ingredients to watch out for.

We are very pleased. This celebratory week is one of the most important in Cauldron’s calendar, and gives us the voice to remind and inspire everyone that great tasting vegetarian foods are really healthy, natural and delicious.

Brand Manager for Cauldron, Sarah Riddolls
