Make The Switch To Rapeseed Oil
It's nearly that time of year when you resolve to be healthier, more environmentally friendly and a better person all round.
An easy first step is to start cooking with cold pressed rapeseed oil.
The 'must have' product for the intelligent foodie, this is one New Year's Resolution you'd be foolish to break.
Not only is Bell & Loxton cold pressed rapeseed oil British produced, so by switching to this delicious oil you'll be helping support our economy, it is also naturally rich in omega 3 and has less than half the saturated fat of olive oil.
Produced and bottled in the heart of Devon, it has far fewer food miles than its Mediterranean counterparts. To top it all it is very versatile and is absolutely delicious in drizzles, dressings, dips and mayonnaises.
So now you know that cold pressed rapeseed oil is a healthy, home-grown alternative to olive oil.
What else do you need to know to help you make and keep your resolution?
Bell & Loxton cold pressed rapeseed oil is a completely natural product with many advantages over other culinary oils. These include it having a lower saturated fat content compared to olive oill with 54% less saturated fat than olive oil and 45% less than sunflower oil.
It also has ten times more omega 3 than olive oil - with 9.6% by weight compared to only 0.1% for sunflower oil and 0.7% for olive oil. It is a good source of Vitamin E and has no artificial preservatives or colours. It's also both trans-fat and GM free.
If you're still undecided then just one more thing... it has a higher burn temperature than olive oil making it perfect for stir fries and roasting.
Just as a final note, it is packaged in practical aluminium bottles which won't fall over and break, take up less space and are lighter for you to carry home and to transport.
Aluminium also wins hands down on recycling - it takes far less energy to recycle than glass. Not only does it look good, cold pressed rapeseed oil also keeps best in the dark, so is the perfect container to store it in.
