BubbaBOOM Tried and Tested

BubbaBOOM Tried and Tested

BubbaBOOM offer funky clothes for kids - that are also made following the strict Fair Trade practice code, from soft superior quality cotton and most are of organic cotton.

With a variety of unique designs and creations that are hand printed to order, each item is individually wrapped in 100% recycled tissue paper, put in a 100% recycled paper bag and placed in a biodegradable mailer. With such environmentally conscious ethics we decided to see how this followed through into the clothes you buy - so we put BubbaBOOM to the test.

We asked Kate Allen and her delightful daughter, Jessica, to put BubbaBOOM through its paces and share their thoughts on the product they received.

Organic BaseBall Tee 'Spookily Pretty'

Gorgeous soft organic fair trade cotton long sleeved baseball style shirt. Halloween themed design hand printed to order. Can be washed at 40C and ironed on reverse. Available in a variety of colours and sizes. RRP: £14.95

The t-shirt arrived quickly and was wrapped in pink tissue inside a recycled brown paper bag, which was a nice effect. The material is of good quality; soft to touch and causing no skin irritation to Jessica.Bubbaboom Jessica

The t-shirt we tested was labelled as suitable for an 18 months old - Jessica is 14 months old and the size is perfect; a little long in the arms at the moment but a very good body length. Overall, not tight but a nice, good size for Jessica to grow into.

We went to Godstone Farm that day and Jessica was playing in the play area (getting the top a little green from the grass) and she also fed the pigs (getting the top grubby). We also had a picnic and inevitably Jessica got some food marks on the front of the t-shirt. There were clear washing instructions on the label (40 degree wash and reshape when damp) and the item washed well - coming up nice and white again after Jessica's day out - and all the stains are gone!

As per the instructions I ironed the t-shirt inside out as I didn't want to ruin the picture and words on the front. Jessica got a lot of comments that day from other mums asking where I had purchased the top as they liked the "Spookily Pretty" logo.

I would certainly purchase another t-shirt from the company, although it would have to be for a special occasion as the price is much more than I would usually pay for a t-shirt.
