The Ludlow Food Festival 2011
Held every year in Ludlow, Shropshire, England 9th - 11th September the small town with the large reputation for good food and drink - this year's Festival features more than 150 top quality small independent food and drink producers from the Marches, the England-Wales border country.
Ludlow is famed for its food culture, great produce and quality restaurants and people from all over the UK and Europe come to the food festival.
There are plenty of free activities, demonstrations and workshops including Michelin Friday which is a whole day of demonstrations from the top chefs from across the region and the UK, including our very own local stars Will Holland and Chris Bradley!
The principal of the festival has always been to promote great local, fresh food and therefore the products found at the festival range from goats meat and mutton right through to vodka and perry.
Throughout the town over the weekend there will be in infamous sausage trail, ale trail and bread trails alongside pudding tastings and so much more so just walking the streets of this medieval town will bring a tasty surprise around each corner.
A new layout in 2011 will allow more room inside the castle and throughout the town as the festival expands into the castle square carpark area.
This area will be filled with exhibitors, entertainment and seating providing weary festival goers with an oasis of calm amongst the tastings.
For 2011 we have a Michelin treat in store with two of Ludlow’s original Michelin chefs returning to cook inside the castle ‘pop up restaurant’ throughout the weekend.
Shaun Hill, Claude Bosi and Glynn Purnell will be joining us and adding their Michelin stars to the La Becasse and Mr Underhills, our two permanent Michelin restaurants in town.
