Festive Fusions for Cocktails this Christmas
Celebrate the festive season with some great drinks ideas from the Waitrose Cellar and Forest Holidays. And have yourself a Merry Little Christmas with Heston's Mulled Winter Cup and a Forest Bloody Mary.
Heston's Mulled Winter Cup
Ingredients
- 70cl bottle Heston from Waitrose Fruit Cup
- ½ x 750ml bottle of Heston from Waitrose Spiced Mulled Cider
- 50g fresh ginger, sliced
- 10 full stems and leaves of fresh coriander
To garnish
- Peeled zest of 1 grapefruit
Method
- Add all the ingredients, except the garnish, into a pan and bring to the boil.
- Turn down to a low simmer immediately, and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.
- Ladle into a latte glass, and add a grapefruit zest garnish to serve.

Forest Bloody Mary from Forest Holidays
Ingredients
- Vodka
- Wild horseradish
- Ground Ivy
- Thyme
- Black Pepper
- Lemon
- Tabasco
- Worcester Sauce
- Tomatoes
- Water
Method
- Infuse vodka with wild horseradish, ground ivy and thyme.
- Muddle tomatoes then simmer and cook for 25 minutes until soupy. Strain the juice through a sieve then cool completely.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the infused vodka, black pepper, lemon, Tabasco and Worcester sauce.
- Add tomato juice and shake well.
- Pour into glasses and garnish with a horseradish leaf.
