Super Glamour Comes to Devon's English Riviera

Aston Martins and Lamborghinis parked on Torre Abbey Meadow, Sunseeker yachts on Torquay's harbourside, a Victory motorcycle at Meadfoot Beach and a glamorous Super Rock Ball at the Riviera Centre - can this be the English Riviera?

Yes, the Super Weekend is coming to town - a celebration of supercars, superyachts and superbikes bringing elegance, glamour and style in its wake.

The weekend of 14th and 15th July will see stands and showcases from luxury brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Porsche, Sunseeker, Mercedes-Benz, Princess Yachts, motorbike companies and other Super brands.?

Events include: super brand showcases, owners clubs, live acoustica, champagne bar/pimms, stunning location, onsite catering, F1 driver challenge and much more! ?

We're delighted that the Super Weekend is coming to Torquay. More and more people are beginning to realise that we have rather glamorous marinas and a wonderful Bay for sailing plus beautiful waterfront driving routes along our 22 miles of coastline. Following Metronomy's stunning music video filmed on location in the Bay, the English Riviera has been receiving a much higher profile and renewed interest from event organisers and journalists wanting to visit.

This is the first time the south west of England has seen anything quite like this and it is sure to be a spectacle not to miss. ?It is also a chance for owners to show off their super stuff - if that is YOUR Lamborghini under the dust sheet in the garage... we want to see it! ?

So get your keys in the ignition and prepare yourself for an unforgettable weekend this summer.

Main sites for the event will be at Torre Abbey Meadows, and the harbourside at Haldon Pier. The weekend is for owners too - Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Mercedes-Benz Owners' Clubs will be showing off some fantastic vehicles.

Official - English Riviera Beaches are Simply the Best

The English Riviera Tourism Company is celebrating as the resort has topped the charts for the second year in a row with the best beaches in the country, scooping a fantastic 15 awards - more than anywhere else in the country.

The prestigious Blue Flag will continue to fly high over beautiful Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Paignton, Broadsands and Breakwater beaches this summer.

Ten English Riviera beaches have also retained their Quality Coast Awards for being clean and safe. They are Maidencombe, Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Preston, Broadsands, Ansteys Cove, Torre Abbey Sands, Paignton, Goodrington and Breakwater beaches.

The Environment Agency has been taking water samples across Torbay and all the beaches have been identified as meeting stringent water quality standards for both the awards set by the Keep Britain Tidy group. They had to pass strict criteria on a number of aspects of beach management including safety, access, facilities on offer, good litter management and bathing water quality.

In addition, 11 of the 15 designated bathing waters in Torbay are mentioned as recommended beaches in the Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide.

The English Riviera is a hugely popular family resort with a reputation for sparkling waters and exceptionally clean, safe beaches. We're delighted that our beautiful beaches have received more awards than anywhere else - just come and see them and you'll see why.

The accolade follows hard on the heels of news that Trip Advisor named Torquay as a Top UK Destination in its latest Travellers' Choice Awards. With the first three favourite destinations being London, Edinburgh and Liverpool, all big cities, Torquay came in at number 4 as the highest rated resort in the country.

And the week-long English Riviera Geopark Festival, which kicks off on June 2nd 2012, gives visitors the chance to explore the beaches and the crystal waters with exciting events such as Geopark Cruises, Wild Swimming, Rockpool Wildlife Hunt and Kids learn to Snorkel PLUS some great Geopark Discovery Packages such as Canoe the Coves and Mussels by Moonlight.

On Monday 4th June panoramic views of the stunning coastline can be enjoyed when the English Riviera turns out to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee with a beacon lighting and patriotic party at the top of the 200ft cliffs of spectacular Berry Head National Nature Reserve.
