The Picture House Musical
Having been the winner of the Scottish Daily Mail Edinburgh Festival Fringe Drama Award, a group of recent musical theatre graduates are now preparing to take the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm with their original production The Picture House Musical that will run at theSPACE on North Bridge from Friday 3rd to Saturday 18th August.
This group of actors created The Picture House during their second year of training at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
The action starts just before the outbreak of the Second World War, when Penny and Oscar Wilkinson, buy an old but charming picture house which quickly becomes a success. However war is just around the corner and it is not long before Oscar and the men of the town are called to serve their country.
Can the Picture House, which has become the pride, joy and escape of the community, survive the horrors of war?
This touching story will make you laugh and cry as you witness a community's fighting spirit.
In a patriotic Jubilee year, it seems very relevant to produce a show which will make people proud to be part of such a great nation. This show consists of original songs and script.
There is a cast of 13 performers on stage plus a band composed by piano, violin and percussion.
