New 'Streatery' Galeto brings Brazilian Spice to Soho

Galeto, a brand new Brazilian street food restaurant concept capturing the vibrant flavours of Brazil opened for business this week on London's iconic Dean Street in Soho.

The 70 cover restaurant will bring with it the carnival spirit of Rio de Janeiro and a variety of authentic Brazilian street food dishes, cocktails and beers.

The first of its kind in London, the Galeto Brazilian 'streatery' is a feast for the senses; furnished with a mish-mashGaleto of vintage and reclaimed furniture and lighting, the restaurant evokes the atmosphere of the Rio Favelas with its walls adorned with the street art of renowned Brazilian graffiti artist Milo Tchais.

Galeto means "little chicken" in Latin Portuguese and its signature 'Galeto' a 24 hour marinated and grilled half-chicken is served with super fries and a choice of Molhos dips including tropical fruit barbeque, hot spicy coriander and garlic cream.

Sides range from black beans and white rice to sweet pepper salsa, mandioca frita and vivid Latino salads.

Mouth-wateringly tender dishes such as Brazilian Picanha steaks and gourmet rump steak burgers are all flame grilled.

Established by Soho nightlife entrepreneur Leo Alexander and former Pizza Express Executive Development Chef and gastronome Antonio Romani, Galeto is set to capitalize on the London street food revolution with authentic Rio food, served fast in a relaxed atmosphere.

Brazil and Rio in particular holds an extremely special place in my heart; I met my Galeto Logowife there and I have been excited for some time to bring her amazing Brazilian dishes to the heart of Soho.

It's about time that we brought a bit of sexiness back to Soho, so we plan to express our passion and fun in both our food and our service.
