A New Gourmet Garden - Taste of London 2011

Chefs Gary Rhodes, Michel Roux Jr and Silvena Rowe discover a new gourmet garden at this year’s Taste of London 2011.

As if tasting dishes from a medley of Michelin starred restaurants wasn’t enough indulgence for one weekend, organisers at the UK’s biggest outdoor restaurant festival Taste of London, in partnership with British Airways, have announced an exclusive new area to be unveiled at this year’s event - which will once again take place at London’s Regent’s Park between 16th and 19th June.

The Secret Garden is the very latest in al fresco dining and for those lucky enough to be given a key, will be an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the UK’s best loved chefs.

Taste Of London Secret GardenTucked away in an exclusive enclave of Marylebone Green, the beautiful gastronomic oasis will play host to a line of world class chefs including Silvena Rowe, Gary Rhodes, Michel Roux Jr, Chris Galvin, Theo Randall and Jacob Kennedy and will act as a glamorous green room for gourmet masters to relax and meet up with fellow foodies.

Those hungry for a taste of the highlife will be invited to enjoy intimate chef Q&As with the likes of Michel Roux Jr, mini master classes in chocolate tastings hosted by Paul A Young and live Cuban music from Floridita London.

The Secret Garden will also set the stage for the Laverstoke Park Farm British BBQ Championships - where 18 of the UKs most renowned chefs including Tristan Welch (Launceston Place), Paul Merrett (The Victoria) and Atul Kochhar (Benares) will battle it out on the coals to impress a line-up of revered food critics.

Created in association with Tatler magazine, tickets for the Secret Garden are on sale now at www.tastefestivals.com/london/thesecretgarden.

World’s Number One Chef, René Redzepi to Join Award Winning Line up at Taste of London Restaurant Festival.

Having been voted the Best Restaurant in the World for a second time at last night’s World’s 50 Best awards, Danish restaurant Noma prepares to share its star chef, René Redzepi with some of the UK’s biggest foodies at the Taste of London restaurant festival.

The new Secret Garden area will host an intimate Q&A with Redzepi where people keen to recreate his style of progressive cooking will be able to hear first-hand about his unique foraging approach, take note of the more unconventional ingredients he uses and understand just how his Copenhagen restaurant has remained at the number one spot for two years running. Redzepi will also be making a guest appearance in the new S. Pellegrino Trilogy Masterclass, tasting and pairing food, wine and water.

Redzepi will be joining a host of international heavy weights flying in for the summer’s biggest foodie event including Portugal’s Nuno Mendes (Viajante) and Spain’s Nacho Manzano (Casa Marcial). A full schedule of talent will be announced in May.

Taste of London is celebrating what is arguably its best restaurant line-up to date, totaling an impressive eleven Michelin stars. Scott’s, Le Caprice, Petrus, Skylon, Gauthier Soho and Bocca di Lupo / Gelupo are just a handful of new restaurants involved for 2011, promising to delight over 50,000 visitors across the four days at London’s Regent’s Park between 16th and 19th June.
