Love Food Festival Celebrates Midsummer at the Wildly Wonderful Newark Park

Midsummer is fast approaching and Love Food Festival are delighted to be celebrating this wonderful time of year at the gorgeous National Trust property 'Newark Park' on Sunday 23rd June 2013

Nestled in the Cotswolds, this splendid Tudor hunting lodge is set within acres of park and woodland providing the perfect venue for the festival.

Celebrating the wealth of local produce and offering an environment in which visitors of all ages can enjoy learning new skills in this beautiful countryside setting, you can expect a bustling producers market with everything you need for your own midsummer feast - from deliciously soft cheeses to freshly baked bread and cakes, superb local jams, handmade chocolates, local wine, oils and sauces and much more.

Street Food is big news at the moment and with Niangs Thai Snacks, Sizzling sausages from Emma’s pigs,Lovefood Festival Icecream paella from The Spanish Buffet, stone baked pizza from Pizza Monkey, steak and chips from Chomp, award winning cider, Ivor’s Ice cream and the Great Cake Café among the line up you’d better arrive hungry!

The very talented Liz Knight of Forage Fine Foods will be joining in the celebrations and sharing her infectious knowledge and enthusiasm with a talk about the wonderful world of foraging and how to make some delicious wild treats at home.

Children can enjoy a variety of traditional craft activities, painting, planting, and storytelling in their very own tent, take part in a nature treasure hunt or simply enjoy the space and fresh air in this wonderful natural playground.

Exceptional local growers Glenhalme Herbs will be on hand with their incredible array of culinary and medicinal herbs and salads and some great tips for your edible garden.

After all that feasting you can enjoy a wonderful walk or bicycle ride on one of the many paths and trails on the estate or amble round the quirky house and gardens and take in the spectacular views of the Mendips.
