Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Win

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Win

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival has been awarded the prestigious Culture Award at this year's Juice FM Style Awards.

Organisers SK Events collected the coveted prize at the ceremony, held at the Hillbark Hotel on Saturday, following weeks of voting by members of the public.

The annual food and drink event, which has become a highlight on Liverpool's culinary calendar, beat off stiff competition from Stanley Street's Pride Festival and the city’s Brazilica Festival.

The team and I are delighted to have won this award for a second time as it is fantastic recognition not only for us, but also for the outstanding bars, restaurants and producers in this city that make the festival possible.

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival marked its fourth year this year and we were determined to make it even bigger and better than ever. We extended it to two days, welcomed an extremely high calibre of celebrity chefs and had more than 100 exhibitors involved who all really upped their game. They are detrimental to the event’s success and they ensured that it hit a new level for 2011.

Ten years ago, people couldn’t imagine having a food and drink festival such as this in Liverpool, but here we are. For us, it's about seeing thousands of people in the park celebrating what's great about food and drink in Liverpool and that's what everyone works so hard for.

Back in September, record numbers of visitors descended to Sefton Park for Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, which offered a whole host of new areas, including a taste of Ireland experience, a dedicated music zone, live food art displays, a vintage wine area featuring a variety of sommelier masterclasses, numerous sampling stations from top UK brands and an impressive local culinary talent area.
