It's Summertime and the Alfresco Living is Easy

With nearly eight million Brits planning a summer 'holi-stay' this year, there has never been a better time to embrace the great outdoors and enjoy an alfresco lifestyle.

Almost a third of people living in Britain can no longer afford a week's holiday abroad (National Statistics 2013) and are therefore embracing the stress-free comfort of their own homes.

What better way to celebrate this than with the return of the 'at-home' outdoor eating and entertaining campaign - Gastro Alfresco 2013.

Now in its 17th year, the summer-long campaign will once again be touring the UK from mid-June until the end of August with engaging sampling RoadShows.

Customers of Tesco Extras and Sainsbury's superstores nationwide will be able to enjoy food and drink from major sponsors.

The 2012 Gastro campaign was the biggest so far, engaging with over 650k customers and reaching over 8 million people via media and promotions - and this year they want to be bigger and better than ever.

They have fabulous sponsor brands on board which, amongst others, include: Boursin - 'Le Plaisir Intense' - Official Cheese; Brancott Estate - 'Stay Curious' - Official Wine; Encona - 'Fire Up The Flavour' - Official Condiment; San Miguel Fresca - 'Hola Vida' - Official Beer; Shloer - 'Best Served Shared' - Official Soft Drink and Starbucks - 'On The Go'.

Last summer was one of the wettest on record, but weather reports for this year are looking to be much brighter. So leave your passports where they are, invite all your friends round- and enjoy a Great British Holi-stay with Gastro Alfresco 2013!
