Feel Like Dancing? Scissor Sisters Perform Live at Sandown Park Racecourse
Get ready for a night of non-stop dancing as Sandown Park Racecourse announces its first music act of the summer series as the humorous, controversial and outright transgressive Scissor Sisters.
Entertainers at heart, the much loved band will be performing live on stage after racing on Wednesday 20th July 2011.
The Scissor Sisters have filled venues from New York’s Bowery Ballroom to London’s O2 Arena and there is really nothing the band won’t do to make you dance and get lost in the beat. They’ve infamously collaborated with Jim Henson’s Muppets for their opening performance at the Brit Awards in 2005, and in 2010, stole the show at Glastonbury when they performed a duet (and grinded) with Kylie Minogue for their single “Any Which Way”.
These particular collaborations have been received positively by both critics and other notable figures. Bono, lead vocalist of rock band U2, described Scissor Sisters as "the best pop group in the world" in 2004.
After giving themselves a much deserved break, the band started working on new tracks in June 2009, which made it onto their replacement third album Night Work.
The album was described as "supersexual and sleazy" with its first single, "Fire with Fire" as "a really epic song that makes you feel really good". With the album, the band have toured worldwide on The Night Work Tour.
Our music and shows are as much for hormonal teenagers and housewives with a dancing bug as it is for the downtown party scene. We cant wait to see you all at Sandown Park Racecourse for a night of dancing and partying!

My daughter and I had a fabulous evening at Sandown last week.
The communication and arrangements from you were spot-on and we were looked after well. Scissor sisters were awesome - (if only you could have controlled the rain! but we're not complaining), had an amazing view and I even went home with a small profit from the races.
Thank you so much, and I'll certainly look forward to entering more comps.
