Edesia Events Hosts a Christmas Season Pop Up Restaurant
Christmas is a magical time for celebrating, entertaining and socialising with family and good friends and what better way is there to do this than through the enjoyment of great food, fine wines and good conversation. Edesia Events are bringing a little bit of Christmas Magic to Oxted in the form of two amazing and talented local chefs, who for two days only will be offering an exclusive fine dining experience in a unique location.
On the 18th December local chef Mike Pitt from Oxted, who is known for his exclusive Supper Clubs, as well as regularly freelancing with Jamie Oliver's team, will be creating a delightful Winter tasting plate with four courses. Having experienced Mike's last and most recent pop-up menu we can certainly recommend this talented chef, who delivered a superb arrangement of seasonal flavours and a delightful combination of local produce to complete his menu.
Mike's next menu will comprise of: -
- a seasonal vegetarian starter of butternut squash, roast beetroot, salted chestnuts, Sussex Blue and chestnut blackberry gel
- a charming main course of roast pheasant breast, confit leg bonbon, slow cooked butter potatoes parsnip, red cabbage topped with a whiskey jus
- an exquisite pudding of chocolate heaven
- a regional cheese platter
On Friday 19th Michelin trained chef Maxwell McKenzie who specialises in Pop Up restaurants in and around Oxted and Reigate will also be offering a fine dining experience. Max's four-course menu is available on the evening of 19th December while the main course and dessert will be served at a special lunch designed for the enjoyment of local friends and colleagues.
Maxwell's menu will comprise of: -
- a starter of poached and rolled skate wing, orange, fennel and black pudding
- a main course of pan roasted beef bavette, chestnut purée, baked potato, pink onions and Jerusalem artichoke
- dessert is a sublime orange flavoured crème brûlée
- an uplifting cheese platter of local cheeses
Our two chefs will be focusing on local produce with a seasonal bent. The wine menu and soft drinks are also being sourced from local suppliers, additional wine and soft drink can be purchased in addition to what is included in the ticket price. Both Mike and Max will create a vegetarian alternative to their main menu based on the flavours and textures agreed.
