Decorate Your Cake and Eat It with the Cake and Bake Show 2012

Saturday 22nd September 2012 saw the first ever Cake and Bake Show open its doors to a huge waiting crowd; most of whom seemed eager to rush in and buy.

And as the doors opened at Earls Court, London for this premier event, it was swiftly obvious that the Capital was ready for plenty of cake...

If the organisers had harboured any doubts about this event they were rapidly swept away by the in-pouring crowd at the start of yesterday's show. Cake Bake

Within the first few hours stalls had sold-out of a variety of produce that had the producers sending out for emergency supplies.

The bakers and makers who brought in their wares to sell soon found that their samples disappeared quickly - along with their stock - as visitors crowded in to buy more than possibly had been anticipated, leaving some stands selling their produce faster than they could un-box and re-stock!

After a short lull around lunchtime that saw the cafe queues stretch long into the hall, the venue began to buzz and hum again, as crowds eagerly gathered around the various 'classrooms' to secure their seats, ready for the next lesson of the day.

The event incorporated numerous 'pop-up' classrooms, where lessons on all aspects of cake making and baking were accompanied by demonstrations from some of the leading celebrity names in the baking world - and included many up and coming masters of their craft.

Those who are keen to venture into creative cooking will have found many new ideas and crafty gadgets to get them baking like the pros and creating true master-pieces in the blink of an eye. Cake Bake B

With many exhibitors keen to show off their skills and assist in mini 'on the spot' lessons, there were tips and tricks to be learned from everyone.

The Cake and Bake Show is not just cakes and decorating or gorging on sweet delights! We discovered The Real Pie Company holding its own, with some great savoury pies, amidst the sea of cupcakes and sugary fancies.

For baking visitors wanting to stock up with the 'tools of their trade' then the many stands available had some exceptionally good deals put together exclusively for show visitors, with up to 50% discount available.

So if you are looking for great cookware, pots and pans or silicon moulds you will not be disappointed if you bookmark next year's event.

If you like cake, whether it is simply eating it, standing back and admiring pure works of art or if you want to roll your sleeves up and have a go yourself, then The Cake and Bake Show will be a 'must' on your 2013 calender.

After the mass sell-out for this year's event, with demand causing a doubling of the original launch size, we think it is safe to say that next year the show organisers may need to look for a bigger venue!
