Chill Out in the Heat with Revolutionary New Frozen Beer

Chill Out in the Heat with Revolutionary New Frozen Beer

With temperatures in the South set to soar to 30 degrees once more this weekend, the UK gets it first taste of a ground-breaking new beer, when the legendary Japanese beer Kirin unveils frozen beer at YO! Sushi's frozen riverside beer garden on London's Southbank.

It is no secret that at Kokova Magazine we are Mega Yo! Sushi fans - and now we have yet another reason for a Yo! visit.

Already famed for its unique ichiban shibori or 'first press' brewing process, Kirin Frozen Beer is served in a standard pint glass, but unlike other beers, comes complete with a whipped and frozen top, designed to keep the beer extra cold in hot weather for an estimated 30 minutes longer than normal.Yo Sushi Kirin

Priced at £4 a pint, Kirin Frozen Beer will be available exclusively at participating YO! Sushi restaurants from 1st August 2013.

Sun worshippers will be able to 'chill out' with a Kirin Frozen Beer and enjoy the setting of the YO! Sushi frozen beer garden at Festival Riverside, Festival Hall, Southbank from 12:00pm - 4pm today (Friday 2nd August 2013).

The frozen beer garden took two days to prepare and includes large and small tables, benches stools set on a green lawn.

Kirin is a fantastic Japanese beer and we're proud to be able to offer people yet another taste innovation from Japan. Kirin Frozen Beer tastes amazing, looks amazing and is great fun - it's perfect for the summer months and coupled with our new outdoor menu, it's sure to be a winner.

Katie Crossfield, Marketing Manager of YO! Sushi

Sarah Mahoney, Brand Manager at Wells & Young's who manage and brew the beer in the UK added:

Kirin Ichiban is brewed using the unique Ichiban Shibori process which means only the first press of the finest ingredients is used to create the distinctive, crisp premium lager drinkers love. Our new frozen variety is the same great beer, but with an added extra - a whipped top which is frozen to minus 5 degrees to keep the beer colder for longer so every sip is a refreshing as the first!

To make the most of the summer weather, you can now try the new YO! Fresco menu - a collection of delicious snacks to share inspired by their most popular dishes and the perfect accompaniment to an ice cold frozen beer.
