British Plant Nursery at RHS Chelsea 2012

British Plant Nursery Guide marks its second Birthday at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 22-26 May 2012 and invites you to 'Meet The Growers' on their stand that's 'Quintessentially British!'

Following the success of last year, the British Plant Nursery Guide will again be exhibiting some of the finest home-grown plants as this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Known for their distinctive quirky style, they have big plans to wow this year's visitors with an ambitious stand taking inspiration from the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Their innovative stand features a variety of home grown plants selected from top independent British nurseries, all members of the British Plant Nursery Guide. Each day there will be a guest, grower from the nurseries who have supplied plants on the stand, to answer gardening and plant related queries.

The 'Meet the Grower' will be an opportunity for visitors to see the benefits of using independent nurseries and find out first hand they expert advice they offer. Nurseries will be represented from as far apart as Devon to Scotland.

The stand will also feature an eye catching restored Morris Minor Traveller classic car, an elegant summerhouse and finished off with knitted cup cakes, a collection of original Coronation memorabilia, and additional vintage styling helping celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

The designer for this year's stand is Rosemary Coldstream, MSGD, was selected over a several other designers. Rosemary says, "I am very excited about the Chelsea garden and am looking forward to working with British nurseries to create an eye-catching and memorable planting display."

Rosemary's design incorporates a lush planting scheme of pastel pinks and apricots, which are the fashion colours this season. They include a range of delicate flowering plants such as Abutilons, Salvias, Sedums, Achillea's, Fuschias, Pelargoniums and old fashioned Pinks. Foliage plants , include ferns, palms, grasses and a tree feature.

We are delighted to be celebrating our second anniversary at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and would like to say a special thank you to our designer, Rosemary Coldstream and all the nurseries and companies who have generously contributed to our stand at this year's show. It's also a celebration of British crafts as several of our partners are skilled craftspeople, from the restorers at Charles Ware, the sewers at Fabric Mills or the carpenters at Scotts and will be joined by up and coming artist Alex Green during the week.

This really is a celebration of British skills from traditional hand crafts to the nursery growers and the lady who has knitted over 300 cup cakes which will be on sale at the show!

Following the show, the plants will then be donated to the charity Gardening Leave, which is developing a garden for the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea to improve the well being of service personnel through Horticulture Therapy.
