Brighton Foodie Festival 2013
The first of eight UK Foodies Festivals takes place at Brighton Hove Lawns from the 4th - 6th May 2013.
The UK's largest celebration of food and drink will see visitors flock from the surrounding areas to feast on the vast array of culinary activities for the third consecutive year in Brighton.
Top chefs, including TV's Gennaro Contaldo of Two Greedy Italians, Michelin-starred Matt Gillan who recently appeared on the BBC's Great British Menu, Michelin-starred Stephen Crane of Ockenden Manor, Jake Northcote Green from Yum Yum Ninja and Michael Bremner of Food for Friends, one of Brighton's most established vegetarian restaurants, will cook their signature dishes live in the Chefs' Theatre and explain how amateur cooks can prepare the same dishes at home.
I am so excited about being at Foodies this year and about getting to meet all the wonderful people who visit the festivals! The atmosphere is always fantastic and it's brilliant to be able to celebrate all the incredible restaurants and amazing chefs we have in the UK.

In 2013, food-lovers can also enjoy the new dining and VIP area serving signature dishes from top local restaurants including a pop-up version of Dermot O'Leary's restaurant Fishy Fishy and Jamie's Italian Brighton.
The bar area has been given a countryside make-over featuring hay bales and focusing on British cider and ale.
The bar bus, a converted double-decker bus, is a fun addition to the tent and pagoda bars on offer throughout the site.
The extensive Producers' Market sells a vast array of artisan produce from the local area and incorporates the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Market's award-winning British produce.
One such exhibitor is Sussex-based Lily's Chillies, run by husband and wife Jason and Charlotte Lacny, who produce a selection of handmade products made from chillies sourced in the UK.
I love getting the feedback from the public at Foodies. It makes slaving away over a steaming pot till three in the morning worth it when someone says you're the best thing they've tasted all day. And it's a great way to generate publicity for our website.

In 2013 the Brighton crowds can again enjoy the huge selection of ready-to-eat hot and cold food from around the world including hog roasts, exotic meats, tapas, churros, burritos, Moroccan tagines, South American prime beef, sausages, pizza, Jamaican and Thai street food.
This year's Children’s Cookery Theatre will be operated by local cook school Cookery Doodle Doo who are running animal-themed classes throughout the weekend making treats like panda cupcakes and bee muffins, as well as face-painting.
