Adam Ant Headlining at the West Dean Festival

Headlining the West Dean Festival on the Saturday 27 August is pop legend Adam Ant with his band The Good The Bad and The Lovely Posse.

"I’m going to give them a show they'll never forget!" Adam says, "I'm really looking forward to playing West Dean - the former home of surrealist patron Edward James."

Between 1980 and 1985 Adam Ant sold 15 million Adam Antrecords achieving 22 hit records, including three number ones - Stand and Deliver, Prince Charming and Goody Two Shoes and, of late, has enjoyed something of a renaissance. He has just completed a sell out UK tour and supported Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks at the Hard Rock Calling festival in Hyde Park and has been receiving rave reviews.

Co-Music Director, Chris Sullivan says "Adam Ant is a very special and unique artist; there is no doubt that the audience at the West Dean Festival we will be treated to something very, very special."

The first West Dean Festival is taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend; offering a wonderful occasion to gather and share your love of music, performance, creative making and much much more.

Alongside Adam Ant, Music Directors, Marlon Richards and Chris Sullivan, have brought together a diverse mix of music acts both established and up-and-coming across a myriad of music genres. Grammy-nominated soul singer James Hunter will be closing the Festival on the Sunday night with what the New York Times describes "the delicate and comforting soul sound of Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson … with touches of Chuck Berry guitar and some falsetto shouts from the playbook of James Brown, his style is too eclectic to be easily pigeonholed."

The line-up of music acts features:
Robin Jones and King Salsa - 12 piece salsa/mambo outfit led by ace congalero Robin Jones
The Third Degree – sixties inspired big band soul rhythm and blues
The Max Pashm Band – electro beats meets Balkan/kletzma refrain
The Polecats – Rockabilly
