Green People Organic Skincare
This summer may be a bit of a wash out for those holidaying in the UK this year but many of us are still keen to keep our skin in tip-top summer-ready shape, all year round.
We took a look at the Green People Organic Lifestyle collection to see just what makes it "Best Organic Range" Organic skincare and natural hair care for all the family.
Gentle Cleanse and Make Up Remover
Suitable for all skin types this 2 in 1 cleanser and make up remover is an alcohol free, moisture binding cleanser that is rich in essential fatty acids. It gently rids you skin of pollutants and eye make up. Containing Aloe Vera, Calendula and SHea Butter this product is 91% certified organic. RRP £9.95 50ml
Out tester was so impressed with this product that she kept it all to herself!
After spending a long time looking for a make up remover that really got to grips with cleansing away all traces of eye shadow and mascara, she described Green People Cleanse and Make Up Remover to be AMAZING!
The smell and texture, the make up remover power, the end result are all the best she has ever found and we are sure that Green People now have, not only a strong advocate, but a new customer.
Our tester reported that the product is gentle yet greasy in a good way, does not take much of an application to do its job and had no effect on her contact lenses; sometimes she feels that she gets a residue grease in her eyes with her regular product, that was not present after using Green People's Gentle Cleanse and Make Up Remover.
We are still trying to get her to share this treasure with others but I guess we will just have to buy our own.
Foaming Face Wash
Suitable for all types of skin, this foaming face wash is a soap free, foaming cleanser that also removes make up, while helping to prevent and reduce blemishes. Containing Green Tea, Witch Hazel and Geranium, this is 96% certified organic. RRP £10.95 100ml
We were surprised by how much 'foam' you can get into one bottle. After three weeks of testing the bottle is still half full and going strong. The foam smells just like tea, pleasant if you like tea - worth persevering if you don't.
The foam applies well and gently cleanses the face without irritation.
One of the most important things we look for in any product testing of body and face creams is no reaction on application.
With all of the Green People products tested none of our testers reported any tingling or stinging from, during or after application.
After a few weeks our testers noticed an improvement in the condition of their skin, with no dry patches or spots of eczema since moving away from harsh chemical cleansers.
Day Solution Moisturiser
Suitable for all skin types, again this product is alcohol free. A light moisturiser to balance and support your skin, while keeping it soft and supple. Containing Willow Bark extract, Prebiotics and Pineapple to tackle blemishes, Geranium, Camomile and Aloe Vera - this moisturiser is 88% organic. RRP £13.95 50ml
This product is extremely emollient and a small pump goes a long way. We would recommend using a half pump application for you face, or spread the rest across your neck and décolletage.
All of our testers said they liked the smell and noticed that their skin felt instantly softer but a couple of testers reported that it may be too greasy for their face after experiencing a crop of small red pimples coming out on continued use.
This could be caused by the product being too heavy for their skin type or over-application, so it may be worth looking around the Green People range to find a lighter alternative.
As a neck and décolletage moisturiser this product is fabulous, smoothing away the appearance of little dry wrinkles and softening the whole area. The best thing we found was that while it felt greasy, this product absorbed easily and stayed in the skin for longer; unlike some moisturisers that either remain on top of the skin or soak in completely, leaving skin just as dry feeling as before.
Natural Aloe Vera Deodorant
This refreshing, effective and active roll on deodorant contains antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Being free from parabens, pore-clogging aluminium or alcohol, it contains calming Chamomile and Sandlewood whilst still being 89% certified organic. RRP £7.95 75ml
Although this deodorant has a delightful smell on application our tester thought it came out quite quickly, as a lot ended up being applied and did not dry on her skin.
Also by the end of the day she felt it had not held up to her usual tough deodorant in keeping her fresh and dry. If you are between waxes it also had problems drying on any excess hair.
As an everyday deodorant this would work on calming down shaving rashes and associated problems but we would advise trying to roll it on a small area and smoothing it over the entire underarm with your hand to ensure even coverage and not too much product application.
Our other testers applied it in the revised way and found it to be a pleasant, effective deodorant. Again, there were no reports of any irritation on application.
The majority of our product testers were female, with age ranges from 19 to 45.
Our male product tester is still using the Face Wash and Day Solution Moisturiser - claiming his skin has never felt so good!
