Mr Lee's Premier Pot Noodle
Move over Pot Noodle because there is a new pot on the block, in the form of Mr Lee's. The time has come for a healthier option in instant noodle, with no nasties added. 
Damien Lee has been on a mission to help time-poor people eat better food, and after a health scare he took a good look at what he was eating to aid his recovery. Damien knew that a diet of raw food and chemo was the only way to beat his illness but that didn't stop him from wanting the foods he craved. His favourite guilty pleasure was instant noodles, but he just couldn't indulge because he knew they were full of ingredients he shouldn't eat.
He made the decision to revolutionise noodles and create a healthier, tastier instant noodle and, as his health returned, Mr Lee's Noodles were born.
"Our noodles are unique because we use loads of freeze-dried ingredients. That makes a big difference to the taste and the quality of our nosh. All other noodles use the dehydrated stuff, making them taste artificial. Yuk! It also sucks the goodness out. Freeze drying locks more of the goodness in, so they taste fresher and yummier, and are healthier."
We took a look at three of Mr Lee's options including: -
- Shaolin Monk Vegetables
- Hong Kong Street Beef
- Penang Chicken Curry Laksa
All three pots were made up with hot water, much the same as most other mainstream and popular noodle snacks currently available. And as with them we prefer to add less water than suggested.
The beef was welcomed by one tester who just 'didn't do noodles or pasta' and declared a success, one that he would eat 'if they added a bit more beef'. The Vegetable was clean and certainly didn't have the cloying aftertaste many others retain. The chicken was equally as well received.
There is no escaping the fact that these snack pots are reconstituted from dried ingredients but they certainly have an additional ingredient to them that others lack - quality. If you are going to go 'off-diet' and treat yourself to a naughty diversion then, without the nasties, Mr Lee's offers a good alternative.
As long as the ingredients are well sourced and of superior quality, then the only choice you need to make is which pot to try first.
