EDM Epicerie Fine

EDM Epicerie Fine

Every once in a while we discover a smaller producer that catches our eye. Not because they have a huge marketing campaign, nor an elaborate stall at a grand event but because of the simplicity of their product and the honest way in which it is presented and displayed.EDM Pineapple Jam

Last month (October 2013) we were presented with a jar of pineapple jam and a caramel chocolate spread from EDM - fine groceries online.

Confiture d'Ananas Extra

Pineapple jam... this jar contains no more than pineapples, cane sugar and lemon juice and forms part of EDM's launch of fruity and colourful jams.

Carefully selected pineapple, papaya, and mango are hand cooked the old way, in copper pots and finished without added pectin, colourings or preservatives. Production is close to picking areas allows the use of ripened fruit - giving these jams an exceptional taste and quality.

The pineapple jam is made to a loose consistency, smells delightful and looks exactly like mashed up pineapple in a jar. The added cane sugar and hint of lemon removes the sharpness of the fruit, leaving a simple yet delightful jar of pineapple jam. Perfect!EDM Chocamel

Chocamel - Caramel au chocolat á tartiner

Caramel chocolate spread - need we say more? A combination of cane sugar, crème fraîche, salted butter, cocoa and lemon juice create this light, fluffy yet extremely moreish caramel spread.

Chocolate spread without the heaviness, yet complete with caramel tones and managing to be not overly sweet. So easy to eat straight from the spoon, we could have finished the jar before this review.

With an RRP of £7.18 for the Chocamel and £6.82 for the Pineapple Jam is not cheap but if you are looking for a luxury treat then we would recommend giving this a try. Available to order direct online.
