Another Vote for Fria
As our regular readers know, we are searching for a great free from white loaf and after the recent Allergy & Free From Show at Olympia we picked up a Fria White Loaf to test.
As with the other Fria products this loaf was already frozen, yet managed the journey home and into the freezer without any problems.
Once we had recovered from the hectic day we settled down to relax and decided to toast some slices to see how they faired - and we have to say this loaf worked as well as any 'normal' loaf and made some very good toast.
The hardest test is in getting free from bread that stays together and once defrosted this little loaf performed more than adequately to make us some great sandwiches the follow day for lunch - and didn't need refreshing in the microwave as many free from breads do!
The only down side to this loaf is the size of the slices - like many in the range - they are a little too small and this means you either eat less or have to double the number of slices you use for a normal sandwich lunch.
We are now looking forward to a re-test on the Genius range, since finding out that they have made improvements to their brown and white loaf recipes.
