Re-Selling Re-Gifting Recycling
As much as we all hate to admit, there has been that moment, if not several times, where you open a gift and smile through gritted teeth, thanking the giver profusely - before putting the present aside while wondering how you are going to get rid of it.
The sentiment of gift giving is usually appreciated but occasionally there will always be an unwanted item attached. So what do you do with those unwanted gifts?
Come January you only have to take a quick browse at eBay to see where a lot of people go to sell on presents that they would rather not have had.
Although a great place for finding a bargain eBay is not always the best pace to sell your presents if you are looking to make profit enough for another shopping spree. After the costs of listing the item and the end value fees plus the Paypal fees if you use that to collect your money - there may be little left to warrant the time it takes to list, sell and visit the post office.
For the odd sought after item or regular bulk selling eBay makes a great marketplace but for those unwanted presents it may be a case of , if you don't want it, who would...
Of course eBay is not the only online market and Amazon offers a similar service for sellers, and since they will sort out most of the hard work for you it could be an easier option.
Popping a card in the local newsagents is another option available - along with an advert on Gumtree - to reach a local audience.
Of course, not every one wants to sell presents on and having a ready supply of last minute birthday gifts is always a bonus. Simply re-wrap the present and note what it contains before putting it away.
When you need a last minute gift or have something you know another person would love to receive, simply produce the gift at the appropriate time.
The only thing to remember is not to make the mistake of giving the present back to the person you received it from!
It doesn't all have to be doom and gloom though. Especially if you choose to recycle your unwanted gifts.
That doesn't mean to say you load up the car and deposit them all at the local recycling bank. Think about your local charities and the shops they run to raise money for the needy. Or visit your local care home or children's ward and see if any of the item you have would be suitable for those in need.
In re-selling, re-gifting and recycling just make sure you show your appreciation to those who went out of their way to choose and present you with a gift - and graciously smile as you unwrap those old brown socks that you re-gifted last year.
