Anyone that wishes to join the campaign to proudly boast that yours are 'Proper Puds' just needs to sign up by completing the entry form - where you will also find the full terms & condition.
Of course, they will have to sample the quality of your Yorkshires!
The first stage of the 2012 competition will be held on Saturday 1st September 2012 at the Black Swan Inn, Peasholme Green, York.
This year's event will be a much bigger affair with chef's competing throughout the day to find the best four.
These will then go forward to a final at a venue to be decided during York's food and drink festival. Check back for updates on The Source or contact info@yorkshirepud.com .
All members will receive a 'We've joined the real pudding club' sticker to display in their window.
Visit and sample the fine Yorkshire Puddings produced by other club members wherever you see the window stickers!
Yorkshire Pudding Cooking Competition Facts
Before the launch of their competition in 2010, the last pudding cooking competition was held in Leeds in 1970 and was won by a Mr Tin Sung Chan. He was the chef/proprietor at Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant and it was one in the eye for a lot of native Yorkshire chefs!
As the Guardian reported at the time, "his methods were unorthodox, his ingredients oddly arranged, but his pudding swelled to the height of a coronation crown and its taste...was superb."
Mr Chann was a bit of a joker, visit 10 Interesting Facts about Yorkshire Puddings to find out his secret ingredient!
An independent competition advertised on The Source on behalf of www.yorkshirepud.com
