The Ramblers General Council
The Ramblers annual general Council during which board members, trustees, volunteers and staff meet to share ideas, debate and set the focus and agenda for the year ahead. General Council also elects members of the Board of Trustees, discusses and votes on motions.
80th Anniversary of the mass trespass on Kinder Scout 24 April 2012
The Ramblers celebrate the 80th anniversary of the mass trespass on Kinder scout, a pivotal event in the history of the right to roam which saw about 400 ramblers take part in a wilful protest on 24 April, 1932, a time when most of the countryside was out of bounds. The Ramblers' Association was officially created shortly after and a vigorous fight for access began - the first major success being the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, the framework for our ten National Parks and 140, 000 km paths network.

All Wales Coastal Path launch: The Big Welsh Walk and Coast for Most Day Saturday 5 - Sunday 6 May 2012
A momentous and much anticipated event to celebrate the official opening of the All Wales Coastal Path. Ramblers from all over Britain will be flocking to the coast to enjoy seaside rambles, and they are inviting you to join them! Ramblers Cymru will be holding The Big Welsh Walk, hosting seaside rambles across the country while the rest of Britain can take part in Coast for Most day to celebrate coastal walks Scotland and in England, as the Ramblers call on the government to assert their support for the English Coastal path and set the next stages of this exciting project in motion.
National Families Week
Fun, low-cost and packed full of adventure, walking is a great way to spend time with your family enjoying the outdoors. Join one of the Ramblers family friendly walks this week! You'll be so busy exploring and having fun as a family that you won't realise just how far you've walked!
Get Walking for the Games Weekend: Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 May 2012
The Ramblers National Get Walking Day has expanded to include an entire Weekend of Walks, this year with an Olympic theme as we 'Get Walking for the Games'.
