Celebrating 30 Years with Squires Kitchen
Squires Kitchen has been creating and manufacturing innovative and trusted products for cake decorating and sugarcraft for almost 30 years. And earlier this month we popped along to join in with the celebrations and see just what this leading sugarcraft company has to offer.
For three days visitors could explore the world of sugarcraft at Farnham Maltings in Surrey at the 30th Squire's Kitchen Exhibition, and, like us, have a go at some of the various ways to decorate a cake, including airbrushing which we absolutely loved. Sugar and paper-like flowers adorned an array of cakes, with rooms full of beautiful works of art in the form of sugar confections and cakes all decorated in the most amazing manner.
With an assortment or workshops, demonstrations and mini-classes this event was pure delight for all cake enthusiasts, from those just starting out with the odd hobby cake at home, to hardened professionals who take their cake decorating very seriously, and with good reason as the intricate creations were true wonders in sugar crafting creations.

When we visited the 30th anniversary celebrations we were expecting to see a few tricks of the trade and a few pretty flowers. We did not expect to be so hooked on the products that we wanted to buy them there and then (great show discounts were on offer too) but we also have some items from our goodie bag that we are itching to get in to the kitchen with and test our modelling skills. Modelling chocolate, sugarpaste mix and paints will be used to test, create and hopefully enjoy eating as they are added to some favourite cake bases.
