Have yourself an Organic meltdown and save a tree.

Organic Meltdown chocolate, the latest creation from Brand Stand is the first product of its type to save a tree for every chocolate bar sold – symbolising that the roots of chocolate can extend into the Earth and heal.

Protecting trees makes sense because cocoa grows under the canopy and current deforestation causes more than 20% of all the Greenhouse Gas emissions (GHGs) released into our Earth's thin shell of an atmosphere.

Cocoa trees originally come from the foothills of the Andes Mountains, in the Amazon Basin, where deforestation puts the original home of cocoa in dire jeopardy of disappearing within 20-40 years.

Organic Meltdown chocolate is trying to make some sweet changes in the fight against climate change, one sweet bar and one tropical tree at a time.

The goal is to save five million trees by 2012, a move that will save endangered lands from destruction, fight climate change and show the world that together we can find sweet solutions to global warming.
