A Working Lunch at Denbies Wine Estate
Last week I went for a working lunch with our editor (Sue) to Denbies Wine Estate, where she was organising an art exhibition of new and emerging artists. But I have to confess, prior to our lunch I hadn't been to Denbies Wine Estate for years 
Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking is a fantastic venue, with lovely views to be seen across the vineyards as you approach from the road. With the art exhibition space upstairs, which is well attended with constantly changing art, I enjoyed a stroll around admiring the talented artwork on display.
As I timed my visit over a working lunch, it meant a quick visit to the café where I sampled a very nice fish sandwich; salmon and prawn mixed in a delicious mayonnaise on brown bread with rocket, accompanied by a recommended glass of refreshing Denbies Rose Hills rosé.
Sue, who has a strict Paleo diet struggled with the sandwiches, soups and hot menu available but we were both impressed that the member of staff at the till took the time to fill a gluten free roll with exactly what Sue could have - fresh ham and green salad, minus the gluten and dairy! It makes all the difference to customers who feel awkward asking for alternatives, especially on a busy Friday lunchtime.
I really enjoyed my visit and hope to pop back again soon, (especially with the Denbies Chocolate Fair on the 13th March) - and to make my weekend even more enjoyable I took home a bottle of Rose Hills rosé and Surrey Gold white for the weekend!
Denbies also has a wonderful farm shop on site, offering fresh meats, cheeses, local vegetables and fresh bread. With Surrey Hills Brewery also occupying a little space to the rear of the main building, Denbies has just about everything covered for a fantastic family day out.
