Hassle-free Coq au Vin

Ingredients

  • Seb’s Smoked Bacon and Red Wine Sauce x 4 sachets
  • 500g chicken portions: breasts, thighs or whole legs
  • Light olive oil or sunflower oil for frying
  • Chopped parsley (optional) for garnish

Procedure

  • Preheat oven to 160C
  • Melt your Seb’s sauce in the microwave as instructed on the side of the pack.
  • In a heavy casserole pan, heat the oil and then add the chicken to the pan and gently brown on all sides.
  • Pour the melted sauce over the chicken.
  • Cover with a lid and place in a preheated oven for 30-40 minutes (cooking times may vary dependant on chicken pieces used).
  • Serve with smooth mash or lovely new potatoes and a sprinkle of parsley.
  • Or if it's feeling more summery try roasted vegetables and a fresh green salad.
