The UK's First Ever Expo Celebrating Scandinavian Crime and Thriller Fiction and Film
A quick glance at the best-seller lists for novels and DVD box sets and it is obvious that Scandinavian crime fiction and drama have become a cultural phenomenon here in the UK.
This weekend 15th - 16th June 2013 at Nordicana, you'll not only be able to see the very latest Nordic film and TV programmes but also have a chance to meet the author and stars of Arne Dahl plus hear from Borgen creator Adam Price, The Killing star Marie Askehave, the new Linda Wallander, The Killing novelist David Hewson and much, much more!
With food and drink from Scandi Kitchen and chef Signe Johansen, kids activities, solve the Crime-scene game and quizzes, a massive line-up of films, huge sunny outside food and drinks terrace and live music from Katarina Gunnerholm, Hanna Jacobsson and Henrik this is an event that UK Scandi-philes cannot afford to miss.
Nordicana will play host to the stars of the hugely popular TV series’ and best-selling authors with panel discussions, signings, exclusive screenings, talks, retail stands, books, DVD and Blu-ray, food and drink and much more. The venue for this unique event will be the landmark Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell.
The Nordicana Show is pleased to welcome the stars, the creators and the fans of ‘Nordic Noir’ for a series of speaker events over the two days. There will be three big screens on the ground, first and second floors showing exclusive episodes from new and continuing Nordic Noir TV series along with brand new and recently released films all day Saturday & Sunday.
A range of delicious and authentic Scandinavian food will be served courtesy of ScandiKitchen, the UK's leading specialist Scandinavian food outlet. Liquid refreshment can be taken at the Briska Cider Bar plus a cocktail or two from Reyka Vodka.
For those who love to shop, The Nordicana Show will feature a market place with retail stands for Scandinavian designs, products and information, Nordicana merchandise, exclusive DVD and book offers.
Children under 16 go free, as long as an adult accompanies them, and for younger children there will be plenty of activities throughout the weekend in the Kids Marquee on the ground floor.
As well as screenings and talks throughout the weekend for the grown-ups, there is also plenty of fun and creative Nordic themed activities for children to enjoy hosted by the award-winning The Creation Station.
The Creation Station will offer some fun, inspiring & hands on Nordic themed arts & crafts activities - loads of creative things to keep the younger & older children entertained during the day. Kids under 16 go free. Simply pre-register via the booking site when you buy your adult ticket.
