Taster Workshops at West Dean's Design & Craft Fair
West Dean's popular Design and Craft Fair, featuring MADE, returns this year from 19th to 21th June. Visitors will have the chance to take part in hands-on creative workshops and learn new skills from some of the College's expert tutors. A series of workshops will run throughout the weekend giving visitors a taste of what West Dean has to offer - for just a small additional cost on top of the price of entry.
Basketmakers, jewellers, potters, artists, printers, sculptors and other specialist tutors will be teaching in the College’s workshops, studios and in covered tents in the grounds. Each tutor will be running hands-on sessions throughout the weekend.
The one and a half hour workshops are expected to book up fast and will cost from £10. (Advance booking online is recommended. An entry ticket to the event is also required and can be purchased online or at the event).
Around 100 innovative and contemporary makers and designers have been carefully selected to show and sell their work in 'The Marketplace' at the event. Alongside practical workshops there will be free craft demos and talks.
Visitors will be able to make a day of it with plenty of delicious food and drink options and free entry to the award-winning Gardens at West Dean included in the price of entry.
The Design and Craft Fair, featuring MADE, will showcase the best that West Dean has to offer.
The internationally renowned College has a worldwide reputation for its quality of teaching in traditional and contemporary art and craft, and offers around 700 short courses each year ranging from Taster Days to the highly popular Summer Schools.
