Reigate Gag House Comedy Club Launch
Veteran comedy goers rubbed shoulders with first-timers last night (21st April) to experience the top class line up for the launch of Reigate Gag House Comedy Club at Reigate Manor Hotel, in Surrey.
A delicious curry was served prior to acts going on stage and BBC Surrey Radio had a sneak preview in the kitchen, spotting the spices and catching the chef stirring the dishes.
As part of the radio's 24-hour special broadcast they chatted with 'punters' and caught up with Phil Nichol, the headline act, to provide their listeners with a flavour as the evening unfolded.
One ticket holder, Jayne, told BBC Surrey that she had actually spent the day moving house but there was no way she was giving up her place at the event. She may be exhausted after packing and unpacking boxes but she was determined not to miss out on the fun.
Judging by the laughter and a scattering of well received heckles, the audience had a side splitting evening. Tom Toal (MC) literally 'whooped' up the audience to introduce Yuriko Kotani, who is on of the lineup for Russell Howard's Stand Up Central for Series 2.
Tom then stepped in with a highly entertaining set himself before introducing the headline, Phil Nichol. At this point the atmosphere went through the roof.
"I am hugely excited to open this new club at the Reigate Manor Hotel. It's been a pleasure working with the team there. When launching a new club you want the best line up possible."
